Strati Progress

The Strati car printed out with a lot of "junk" plastic inside for some reason. After hollowing it out, it doesn't look so bad. All ready to be presented to our auto teacher. The auto class will have to glue it together!

Bezier Curves in Sketchup

You can draw curves and curved objects in sketchup by installing the bezier curve extension. Here are some examples of what you can do with this tool: If you want this functionality at your school computer, ask me and I can log in as an administrator for the download and install. Step 1: Download the bezier curve extension Step 2: Launch Sketchup Step 3: Go to Window->Preferences Step 4: Select Extensions Step 5: Choose Install Extensions Step 6: Locate the rbz file you downloaded in step 1

Motor Mount

Matt has a remote-controlled airplane and wanted to change out the motor, so he designed this mount to accommodate the new motor. His initials are even printed on the side of it. Ingenious!

Snowflake

It's a little early for snow but Steven designed an awesome snowflake in blender. We printed it in two colours, stopping the printer after it finished the base switching from blue to white.

Making a 3D Keychain with a Custom Logo

This tutorial is on how to make a logo eychain with all straight edges in Google Sketchup . Step 1: File->Import image of your choice. (Make sure the file type matches) Step 2: Click at the origin and then type in 400mmx400mm and press enter This will give you a 4cmx4cm keychain Step 3: Select the Line tool and trace all around the object until it closes and creates a face. If it doesn't create a solid face then something went wrong, try again. Step 4: Select the Push/Pull tool and click on the face of your object. Step 5: Drag it up until it shows about 5mm thickness in the bottom right of the screen. Step 6: Use the Select tool and select the graphic, press "delete" on the keyboard That's it!
