It's a little early for snow but Steven designed an awesome snowflake in blender. We printed it in two colours, stopping the printer after it finished the base switching from blue to white.
We started looking at resources for 3d printing using Blender.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIAO1zS6oGY http://hackaday.com/2014/01/03/3d-printering-making-a-thing-in-blender-part-i/ We found out that Blender is probably overkill for 3d printing, Something simpler like Google Sketchup does a great job and is used by many people with 3d printers. Some of you already know a fair amount about Blender. so keep using it if you like!
Here are prototypes for key chains for our school tuck shop. As I type this the green plastic just came in! (stay tuned for progress) Link to the obj files . Feel free to print and share.
As you can see, I switched from blue to white a little too early, hence the white "frost" on the base...
